What is Non Dairy Bravo (NDB)?
NDB is the new Non Diary version of Bravo, where the cultures have been grown in a medium of sugar to make a juice rather than milk and colostrum as in the traditional Bravo.
NDB combines all the known healthy properties of probiotics with the known healthy properties of Chondroitin Sulphate (CS).
Does it have similar immune stimulating benefits as Bravo?
NDB encompasses an array of probiotic microbes very similar to that of the colostrum and milk-based Bravo (here referred to as “classic Bravo”). The difference is in the absence, in NDB, of the added Streptococcus Thermophilus that, in the classic Bravo is used as a starter for the initiation of the fermentation of colostrum and milk. Many of the probiotic microbes of NDB are known to stimulate and rebalance the immune system as we have written in the peer-reviewed paper published in the American Journal of Immunology.
Which beneficial bacteria are present in NDB?
NDB is a proprietary, custom-made formula, therefore the specific strains are non in the public domain, however the unique formulation for fermented fruit juice derives from the scientific research that demonstrates how fermented food products are beneficial as part of human nutrition. From the article published in the American Journal of Immunology.
The amount and the diversity of live microbes. NDB contains more than 9 billion probiotic microbes where we would normally see 1 billion.
The presence of eukaryotic microbes endowed with probiotic features. Among these, in the paper we focused our attention on the Kluyveromyces marxianus known to positively regulate the immune system.
The presence of gastro-resistant probiotics, including Bifidobacteria, that are intended to colonize the gut after having passed undamaged the stomach barrier and are reported to regulate and stimulate the immune system.
Does it have any GcMAF in it?
GcMAF is a protein that derives from the enzymatic conversion of a precursor, the Gc protein (also known as vitamin D-binding protein or DBP) that is found mostly in mammal blood and milk (and colostrum). It is well known that the active site of GcMAF is a molecule denominated N-acetyl-galactosamine (GalNAc) and this very molecule, that is the active site of GcMAF, is a constituent of Chondroitin Sulfate. To be more precise, one molecule of GcMAF contains only one active site of GalNAc, whereas one molecule of CS contains between 50 and 100 molecules of GalNAc.
What is Chondroitin Sulphate (CS)?
Chondroitin sulphate (CS) is a glycosaminoglycan, that is endowed with a number of healthy properties and it is also a prebiotic.
The active site of GcMAF is a molecule denominated N-acetyl-galactosamine (GalNAc) and this molecule is a constituent of Chondroitin Sulfate. To be more precise, one molecule of GcMAF contains only one active site of GalNAc, whereas one molecule of CS contains between 50 and 100 molecules of GalNAc.
The number of potential preventive and therapeutic effects of chondroitin sulfate is widely acknowledged. The Mayo Clinic reports that there exists scientific evidence for the clinical use of chondroitin sulfate in conditions characterized by inflammation such as:
* coronary artery disease
* muscle soreness
* interstitial cystitis
In addition, the same institution presents a long list of the uses for chondroitin sulfate that are based on tradition or scientific theories. Such a list reads:
* Alzheimer’s disease
* amyotrophic lateral sclerosis
* blood clots
* bone healing
* breast cancer
* cervical disc disease
* chest pain
* chronic venous ulcers
* clogged arteries
* colorectal cancer
* gum disease
* heart attack prevention
* heart disease prevention
* high cholesterol
* inflammatory bowel disease
* joint problems
* kidney stones
* lung cancer
* mouth and throat infections
* multiple sclerosis
* nerve damage
* nerve regeneration
* Parkinson’s disease
* premature birth prevention
* quality of life (osteoarthritis)
* rheumatoid arthritis
* soft tissue injury
* spinal cord injury
* spine problems
* systemic lupus erythematosus
* temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ)
* wound healing
